Mahathir releases book on Indian origin cop

Malaysia's former prime minister Mahathir Mohamad has released a biography of an Indian origin policeman who fought the communist insurgency during the British colonial era.
Sher Mohamed Allah Baksh, who valiantly battled the communists during the insurgency, came from India when just 14, his son and author of the book entitled 'Kismet' Rafique Sher Mohamed said here Thursday.
Mahathir, who did not know the late Sher Mohamed personally, said a book like 'Kismet' was important because it 'immortalised a piece of the country's history', The Star newspaper said Friday.
Sher Mohamed, who joined the police force of the Federated Malay States in 1934, died in 1996 at the age of 81.

That is great to learn at list a man is there who fought himself at the age of 14 yrs for Malaysia agaist the terrorist. Dr Mohamad Mathir is the living histry of Malaya (He suppose to write it himself) who has seen and experienced the dark days of Malaya prior to 1960. About five thousand British Gurkhas sacrificed there, to establish peace in Malaysia, from Camron Highland to Singapore and Blakangmati area when Ching Pang aggression campaign was going on from 1948 to 1964. When Ching Pang himself was serving to the British Govt, it is heard that he was awarded a medal of honour but he did not accept it.

very racist undertones
iam tired of hearing this newly adopted style " Indian” or “Chinese origin” this and that..can we not understand their background just from the prints of their names alone anymore ? ..or are we that daft or on a new “crusade” propagating the slide back into racialism ?..and we call ourselves responsible builders of a new Malaysia " ?..what a joke! and when some idiots take offence ..you blame the MUFTI again..never the sami..come on be rational / part of the new breed for a change ..its good for you..
