Kirin and Suntory decide not to merge

Kirin and Suntory, the Japanese brewers have decided not to merge.
After months of negotiations, Kirin said it was unable to agree with Suntory on ways to ensure management independence within the merged company.
Suntory had complained it was unhappy with the merger ratio which would have determined control of the new business.
