CABARROGUIS, Quirino, May 28 (PIA)-The first batch of returning Locally Stranded Individuals (LSIs) arrived in the province recently through Public Utility Vans provided by the provincial government.
These LSIs include 23 students and workers who were locked down in Baguio City during the Enhanced Community Quarantine period.
They are: Divina Gayyang, Aiza Buhungan, Charles Buhungan, Kisserie Calicdan, Jerwin Esparago, Jhovan Esparago, Konie Kay Nahpadan, Glazy Heclod, Romnick Heclod, Juliet Hoggang, Rodalee Maliting, Reino Roel Momog, Kenneth Tayaban, Kenedy Tungawon, Milo Lammag, Benedict Maliting and Debbie Luagna, all from Ifugao Village in Diffun.
The other LSIs are Angelika Tiongco of Aurora East, Diffun; Marcial Buccahan of Jose Ancheta, Maddela; Angie Bongtawon of San Manuel, Aglipay;
Mike Troy Kawi of Pedlisan, Maddela; Nikki Ann Luagna and Arnielyn Humiwat of San Martin, Maddela.
Donjo Godfrey Castillo, driver of one of the vans hired by the provincial government posted in his facebook account a video of the LSIs who were seen waving and thanking the provincial government and the PDRRMO for fetching them and sending them in their homes.
"Maraming salamat po kay Gov. Dax Cua at ang PDRRMO na pinamumunuan ni Ma'am Jesusa Leal sa pagsundo po sa amin," the unidentified LSI said.
Meanwhile, the PDRRMO hotlines are continuously receiving requests coming from LSIs and OFWs for assistance in returning home.
Local Disaster Risk Reduction Management Officer Jesusa Leal said they are continuously coordinating with the local government units where the LSIs and OFWs are stranded for the proper health protocols of transporting them to the province.
The provincial government thru Governor Cua also requested the LTFRB to issue special permits to the PUVs that will be hired to transport the LSIs.
Those who intend to return home are advised to contact the PDRRMO at cell phone number 0977-803-0737 or send message to their facebook page and provide the following: name of LSI/s, address in Quirino, contact number/s, address where LSI is currently staying and proposed means of travel. If LSI intends to use private vehicle, he or she must include vehicle details and itinerary.
The LSIs must also present proof of residence or any valid ID or cedula indicating that he/she is a resident of Quirino.
Leal said upon arrival in the province, the LSIs must proceed to their Municipal Health Office for instructions as to where they will be quarantined. (MDCT/TCB/PIA 2-Quirino)
